faq:
  - q: "Which countries are most interested in stablecoin cards?"
a: "In BlindPay's research on ChatGPT and Gemini prompts that mention stablecoin cards, from July 1 to October 12, 2026, the US led with about 80,800 projected prompts, followed by India at 51,600, the UK at 12,800, Canada at 11,300, the UAE at 6,900, Vietnam at 5,700, Pakistan at 5,100, and Germany at 4,300."
  - q: "Does search interest mean people use stablecoin cards in those countries?"
a: "No. Prompt volume measures how often people ask AI assistants about stablecoin cards, not how many cards are issued or used. Interest can come from people who cannot get a card yet. Card availability depends on each program's country list and on local rules, which vary widely."
  - q: "Are stablecoin cards available in India, Pakistan, or Vietnam?"
a: "It depends on the program and on local law, both of which change. Each card program publishes the countries it serves, and the rules on crypto and on foreign card spending differ by country. Check the program's eligibility page and your local regulator before applying, and do not rely on a card for essential payments."
  - q: "Why does stablecoin card demand show up in emerging markets?"
a: "The common reasons are access to dollars, the cost of converting currency, remittances from family abroad, and income from foreign clients paid in USDC or USDT. A card lets that dollar balance be spent at merchants. Paying rent or bills usually still needs a bank transfer in local currency."
  - q: "How many stablecoin card programs are there worldwide?"
a: "Visa reported more than 130 stablecoin-linked card programs in more than 50 countries in March 2026, and said it expects the number of programs to roughly double during 2026. Paymentscan, which tracks onchain card activity, lists 29 card programs on its dashboard."

Interest in stablecoin cards is global but concentrated. In BlindPay's research on ChatGPT and Gemini prompts from July 1 to October 12, 2026, the US accounted for about 80,800 projected prompts, India for 51,600, and the UK, Canada, the UAE, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Germany followed. This measures interest, not card usage, and access still varies by country.

This page reads that interest signal country by country, explains the likely reasons behind it, and shows where a card is not enough on its own. For how the cards themselves work, start with [what stablecoin card issuing is](/resources/more/what-is-stablecoin-card-issuing). For volume and program data, see the [state of stablecoin cards 2026](/resources/more/stablecoin-card-statistics-2026).

**Key takeaways**

- About 184,600 projected AI prompts mentioned stablecoin cards on ChatGPT and Gemini from July 1 to October 12, 2026, per BlindPay's research using Profound.
- The US and India together made up about 72% of the projected prompts.
- Interest is not usage. Many people asking may not be able to get a card where they live.
- Visa reported more than 130 stablecoin-linked card programs in more than 50 countries in March 2026.
- Where cards are hard to get, or bills need a bank transfer, local payout rails do the work a card cannot.

## What does the AI search data show?

It shows where people ask AI assistants about stablecoin cards. BlindPay tracked prompts that match the phrase "stablecoin card" on ChatGPT and Gemini with Profound, an AI search analytics platform, from July 1 to October 12, 2026.

| Country | Projected prompts | Share of the 184,600 total |
| --- | --- | --- |
| United States | 80,800 | About 44% |
| India | 51,600 | About 28% |
| United Kingdom | 12,800 | About 7% |
| Canada | 11,300 | About 6% |
| United Arab Emirates | 6,900 | About 4% |
| Vietnam | 5,700 | About 3% |
| Pakistan | 5,100 | About 3% |
| Germany | 4,300 | About 2% |

ChatGPT carried about 151,200 of the projected prompts and Gemini about 33,400. Perplexity had no reportable estimate for the period.

**Definition: projected prompts.** An estimate of how many conversations on an AI assistant include a matching question, modeled from a sample. It is a measure of interest. It does not count cards, users, or spend.

## What are people asking about stablecoin cards?

Mostly what they are, how they work, and which one to pick. Of the classified conversations in the same dataset, 21.5% were informational, such as definitions, news, and how-to questions, and 13.3% were commercial, such as comparisons and provider research.

The rest were mostly writing tasks, which say little about demand. Read the informational and commercial share as the real signal: people want plain definitions, current numbers, and help choosing. The fundamentals pages in this cluster, starting with [what a stablecoin-backed card is](/resources/more/what-is-a-stablecoin-backed-card) and [how stablecoin card transactions settle](/resources/more/how-stablecoin-card-transactions-settle), answer those questions.

## Why is interest high in the United States?

The US has the most card programs, the biggest crypto user base, and a new federal frame for stablecoins. Interest there is mostly about which card to pick and how it is regulated.

Two events gave US readers reasons to ask. The [GENIUS Act](https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/PLAW-119publ27/html/PLAW-119publ27.htm), signed July 18, 2025, set the federal frame for payment stablecoin issuers. And in December 2025, [Visa launched USDC settlement in the United States](https://usa.visa.com/about-visa/newsroom/press-releases.releaseId.21951.html) with its first banking participants. [Stablecoin cards in the United States](/resources/more/stablecoin-cards-united-states-regulation) covers both.

## Why is interest high in India?

India ranks second on prompt volume, which likely reflects a large, young, mobile-first population, a big freelance and remote work sector paid by foreign clients, and remittances from family abroad. Many of those people earn or receive dollars and ask how to spend them.

Rules on crypto, on foreign currency, and on card spending abroad apply in India, and they change. Card availability depends on whether a program serves Indian residents at all. Check the program's eligibility page and the current local rules before applying. For income from foreign clients, [how freelancers spend USDC](/resources/more/how-freelancers-spend-usdc) compares a card with a bank payout.

## Why does demand show up in the UAE, Vietnam, and Pakistan?

Each market has its own reason, but dollar access and cross-border income run through all three. The patterns below are likely drivers, not measured causes.

- **UAE.** A financial hub with a large expatriate population that moves money across borders often. Gulf issuers are also moving into stablecoins: [INFINIOS](https://www.mastercard.com/news/eemea/en/newsroom/press-releases/en/2026/august/infinios-goes-live-with-mastercard-on-stablecoin-settlement-marking-a-first-for-issuers-in-the-kingdom-of-bahrain) said in August 2026 it was the first issuer in Bahrain to settle with Mastercard using stablecoins.
- **Vietnam.** High crypto adoption and inbound remittances, with people asking how to spend stablecoins they already hold.
- **Pakistan.** Remittances and freelance income from abroad, plus interest in holding dollars.

In all three, card availability depends on the program and on local rules. Interest in AI prompts does not mean a card is easy to get.

What the three have in common is that the stablecoin balance often arrives from abroad, from a client, an employer, or a family member, and the person then has to turn it into something they can spend locally. A card is one answer for shopping. A transfer into a local bank account is the answer for everything a card cannot pay, which in most households is the larger share of monthly spending.

## How does Latin America fit the picture?

Latin America is not in the top eight countries by prompt volume, but it is one of the clearest card markets. Visa and Bridge launched stablecoin-linked card issuing in [Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Chile](https://usa.visa.com/about-visa/newsroom/press-releases.releaseId.21371.html) in April 2025.

Many questions in the region are asked in Spanish and Portuguese, which a phrase match on "stablecoin card" in English would undercount. [Stablecoin cards in Latin America](/resources/more/stablecoin-cards-latin-america) covers the country rules, and [stablecoin card vs Pix and SPEI payouts](/resources/more/stablecoin-card-vs-pix-spei-payouts) covers when a local payout fits better.

## Why do local payout rails matter where card access is uneven?

Because a card only works where cards are issued and accepted, while a bank transfer works for rent, bills, payroll, and suppliers. Where card access is uneven, a local payout rail is the dependable way to turn stablecoins into spendable money.

Compare the two paths for someone paid in USDC:

| Need | Stablecoin card | Local bank payout |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Buy online in dollars | Works well | Not needed |
| Pay rent or a utility bill | Rarely accepted | Works |
| Available in my country | Only if a program serves it | Where the provider has a rail |
| Conversion timing | Every purchase | Once, at payout |
| Record for taxes | Card statement | Bank deposit and payout ID |

[Instant payment systems by country](/resources/more/instant-payment-systems-by-country) lists the real-time rails that make local payouts fast.

## How should you read this data?

Read it as interest, scoped to two assistants, one phrase, and one period. Four steps keep it honest:

1. **Name the measure.** These are projected AI prompts, not cards, users, or spend.
2. **Name the scope.** ChatGPT and Gemini, phrase match on "stablecoin card", July 1 to October 12, 2026.
3. **Mind the language.** An English phrase undercounts countries that ask in other languages.
4. **Pair it with usage data.** Visa's program counts and onchain trackers measure activity. The [state of stablecoin cards 2026](/resources/more/stablecoin-card-statistics-2026) collects those.

This is general information, not legal or financial advice. Rules on crypto and cards vary by country.

## Where does BlindPay fit?

BlindPay supplies the local payout and collection leg next to a card program. It converts USDC and USDT into local currency over Pix, SPEI, ACH, RTP, SEPA, and SWIFT (POBO/COBO), with KYC, KYB, and sanctions screening in the same API flow.

For a business with users or contractors in several of the countries above, that means one integration to pay them in local currency, with no pre-funding, published plans with no volume floor, and fees shown in the live quote. SWIFT reaches 100+ countries where no local rail is available, with UETR tracking and MT103 confirmations. Card issuing stays with the issuer that serves each market.

## What to do next

If your users ask how to spend stablecoins, check two things for each market: whether a card program serves it, and which local rail reaches its bank accounts. Then cover both.

Businesses can test the payout side on a free development instance with the [payout quickstart](/docs/quickstart-payout), and check rail coverage in the [payment methods reference](/docs/kb/payment-methods).
